Hey people, soooorrryy it took us again a while for a little update here. Well our life pace has kind of slowed down having arrived in Wellington and not soooo much has happened. But well here are the latest news:

For anyone who doesnt know yet, Alex and Laura a part of a Kiwi flat share in Wellington!!! Having had some really nasty and disgusting flats and rooms to look at, we found this cute little place (pictures will come soon) in Lower Hutt, like 12 km from Wellington, where the owner is renting out the rooms to people for a decent price. As everything looked really neat and cosy we decided right away to stay there. Biggest problem was that the rooms were unfurnished, so we were in need for a bed, seeing that we had to hand back our caravan the next day, Saturday the 1st of September. Luckily the nice landlady thought of some bed with the salvation army where we should have a look at, what we did on that Friday. Ok it wasnt great, but hey what can you expect for a hundred bucks. Still Laura didnt look to keen on sleeping on a mattress who looked like that, but all in the aspect of beeing able to wash it, we still bought it.

Now comes the prob... of course we werent able to wash it at all and shortly after having it put in the room.... big, stinky, yacky mattress it was... Alex noted something farely itchy on his arms with loads of red points... yummy... MITES!! and loads of them were living in this stinky thing. No way we would be able to close our eyes at night. So what now! Well obviously we needed a new mattress, so we looked a bit around, found the cheapest one and bargained it down a little more before buying it. At least some neat white new mattress!!!! Bringing the old one back to the salvation army and telling them about the mites, they just put it back for sale again. Oh well not our prob any more. On Saturday we even bought a flower for our room which looked really cosy finally.

Having settled down in Lower Hutt for the moment we decided to go through the work agencies situated here, before making our way to Wellington. Well the only thing am gonne say right now its running. We both have interviews and are subscribed in quite some agencies. Work market looks great, so as soon as we have REAL news on that front you will know it!

Apart from that Wellington and the Hutt valley are a great area to be in. Loads of possibilities to take a nice walk, cause you have the Hutt river and the Harbour (huge, more like a Peninsula sort of thing) and the Mountains and the ocean etc., Wellington itself has loads of little cute suburbs, we have only seen 2 of them yet. But we are planning on making a day tour around all the areas to see where best to live and look for our own flat. :) And of course there are loads of nice restaurants, bars and pubs and shops in Wellington, although we are still on the lookout for some nice traditional Pizza, cause they have of course mostly the thick doughy american pizzas here ...

Concerning our flat share, well we kinda are longing for our own flat by now, seeing that some of our roommates are not as neat as they seemed to be and some other behave rather weirdly. They are not that big in talking either, but some are really nice hehe. Anyway it will work till we have work and enough money for our own flat :)

Well I guess that's that for the moment. Am sure we will have some great news soon. We are still thinking of hopping down to the South Island before starting work as everyone we meet is just telling us how nice it is there!
