Hello folks,

I thought I'd share some thoughts on the immigration process. I've just received my two year working visa and we're in the process of getting the partner visa for Laura. To do this we needed to get a copy of my passport and visa certified.

If you're in NZ, one way is to look up a Justice of Peace in the yellow pages. www.yellow.co.nz but to say the honest truth, that is more complicated than it's worth. you need to make sure the person is available, maybe even make an appointment, and some cheeky ones even charge a minimal fee for their time.

The easier way is to go the District Court and have it certified there. In Wellington you can find it at the train station end of Lambton Quay on Ballance Street. Go up to the sixth floor to the Reception and they'll show you through a pair of doors where somebody will sign your copies and sign your declarations for free and promptly.

This tip I actually got from a very busy justice of peace, Rob Warner in Wellington. Thanks Rob! Worked a dream!
